Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell has worked as a chef, TV presenter in the US as well as an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She is host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network. With her signature spiky blond hair and bubbly personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of dining out, and provides simple, easy-to-learn techniques for home cooks on her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Burrell is a chef who has been in the kitchen for a long time. Burrell is also an experienced chef of New York City's best restaurants. She has also learned about Italy's food traditions and its culture and the surrounding landscape. While growing up in the upstate area of New York, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. The Culinary Institute of America sparked her interest in managing restaurants when she received an English/Communications diploma at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was an unforgettable opportunity for me. The Culinary Institute of America was an excellent place to study. After graduating of the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners, chef Burrell was able to spend a whole year in Italy doing research and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant in Umbria as well La Bottega del 30 one Michelin rating in Tuscany. It was during this time that her experience in Italy allowed her to comprehend and appreciate Italian philosophy and culture, and this has left an impact on her own culinary perspective. Burrell served as a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that aims to make a difference in children's lives who are facing difficulties. Additionally, she is an Juvenile Research Foundation celebrity ambassador which promotes awareness of juvenile diabetes. Burrell travels extensively across the United States in her position in the capacity of mentor and an invited speaker, where she talks about her professional life and the joy of cooking. Anne has always been grateful she was able to share her passion that she had for sharing her cooking skills with other people.
