Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina Shevchenko is a Kyrgyzstani as well as a Peruvian Muay Thai fighter as well as mixed martial artist competing in the flyweight division of UFC. She is the elder sister of her fellow UFC fighter and former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko's combat sport career started out in the form of a Muay Thai athlete. Shevchenko debuted on the IFMA World Championship Tournament in 2003. Shevchenko took the title before being defeated by Suzane Mller in a unanimous decision. Antonina kept her winning streak going by winning a silver and bronze medals in 2007 and 2008 respectively, and a gold medal in 2011, as well as the 2016 IFMA amateur Muay thai world champion. Antonia launched her professional career back in 2003. She has taken home numerous awards, such as the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Champion, Lion Fight Lightweight Championships, and WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships. Antonina's final bout took place at the Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. She won via unanimous verdict. Antonina Shychenko's pro MMA debut was in 2002 at the KFK Championship in Kyrgystan where she was matched against Anara Bayanova. She was victorious by TKO during the 2nd round, and then won her two subsequent bouts and both of them at the WXF X-Impact World Championships of 2003. It gave her the record of 3-0 in MMA. Shevchenko took a break from MMA to focus on her kickboxing and returned to the ring in a fight against Anissa Haddaoui during Phoenix FC 3 in 2017. Shevchenko defeated Anissa by a unanimous vote. She went on to knock out Valerie Domergue during Phoenix FC 4. She joined Dana White Contender Series 2018 following her departure from the competition. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera on Dana White Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina's superior strike skills let her TKO Nievera via knees in the back of her. Antonina was offered an UFC invitation following her win. Antonina was given a UFC contract after her win. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modeafferi by the unanimous verdict. She then lost her subsequent fight because of an unanimous verdict. Antonina was able to bounce back from losing and defeated Lucie Puddilova in UFC on ESPN Covington-Lawler by rear-naked submissions in the 2nd round. The bout earned Antonina the Fight of the Night bonus. Shevchenko had a 1-2 record in her three subsequent matches which included a win over Ariane Lipski and losing to Katlyn Clarkagian as well as Andrea Lee. Antonina lost her last fight to Casey O'Neill via TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos-Walker.
